It’s been a long journey from early 2015 when we filmed in Baton Rouge, LA up until this week’s release. Whenever I’ve been a part of something like this, you never really know how it’s going to turn out…whether or not people will get to see it…or where or when. I’m so thrilled that this beautiful film is releasing in theaters around the country this coming Friday. It’s about four teenagers and relationships and faith, touching on hot topics like sex and abortion, freedom of speech, and how amazing of an actor that one dad is. (I play the dad of lead actor, Chris Massoglia, also from Minnesota!) Exact theaters and location information is on the movie website – becauseofgracia.com.
We recently had a premiere screening here in Nashville (Franklin, to be exact!) with many of the cast, crew, investors, friends, and family in attendance. We had a blast. It was so fun to see it on the big screen with the big sound…and to hear the reactions…the laughter, the tears—from the audience sitting around me. I brought several of my good friends with me to experience it together. So grateful for that.
I plan on being at the Franklin Thoroughbred 20 this Friday night (Sept. 15th) with a couple other cast members to greet the audiences and host a brief Q&A afterward.
Love this article written by the awesome Megan Kennedy for the Rochester (MN) Post-Bulletin newspaper about the film! READ IT HERE
I hope you get to see this film. It’s great for teenagers. I promise they will find someone in the cast to relate to, and will be inspired and challenged, without being pandered to.
